Reaching 100,000 Monthly Pageviews in 6 Months
What is so special about 100,000 monthly pageviews? It’s kind of a threshold in blogging, that takes you from amateur to professional blogger. Not that you can’t be a professional under six figure monthly views, but it’s a goal that a lot of bloggers have that mean to them that they’ve “made it.” So how do you get there in just 6 months?
Keep reading to learn these actionable tactics to get you there!
Getting to Six Figure Monthly Views
First, it’s about your content. You want to produce amazing content that gets the reader so excited, they read the article multiple times and then peruse your entire site to get more!
Do you ever have a blog post that you find that’s like that?
You discover it and it’s so juicy, you’re oozing with excitement to consume it. Then go crazy on the site, searching for more awesome content.
Here’s how you do it:
- Long form content: This keeps the reader on your blog longer AND it contributes to getting found in search engines (SEO). Search engines like content that’s 1,000 words or longer. Aim for 2,500+ words and you’ll get found even faster!
- Lots of imagery: Don’t forget about photos. Images paint the picture for the reader. Insert stock photos, graphs, charts, screenshots, etc.
- Lots of sections: Section off your content into categories and subcategories right on the post. This helps with reading. You want to make it easy to read the article. Use shorter paragraphs, like 2-4 sentences long.
Get inspired and write on topics that answer burning questions that your audience has. Do lots of research and don’t forget to write for keywords (SEO).
You gotta be on social media. Social media can help your content go viral, it gets you more shares and more traffic.
Join your social networks of choice and be active!
Then, make sure you have social tools installed on your blog that allow the reader to easily share it to their social network of choice.
For WordPress, that’s gonna be through plugins like:
- Social Warfare
Don’t be afraid to socially share your own content.
Do so easily in 5 minutes a week with our favorite tool, Tailwind.
Tailwind lets you schedule your social media for the entire week (or longer) with their social sharing software. It’s so easy to use and you’ll see your traffic transform, the minute you start using it. Recommended.
Use the Skyscraper Technique
Created by Brian Dean of Backlinko, the skyscraper technique encourages spying on successful posts with the intent of creating an even better post, from that inspiration.
It’s like taking: “How to Start a Blog” and turning it into “How to Start a Successful Blog in 20 Minutes”
It’s more than changing the title. It’s about taking existing successful content and making it even more valuable to readers.
Big bloggers are even doing this.
Think outside the box. Find content on social platforms like Pinterest or Facebook, Quora, Reddit, the list is endless.
This is one of those things that gets forgotten about but can make the biggest difference.
Guest posting involves writing content on another site, with the intent of some of that traffic coming back to your site.
How do you do it?
First, find authority blogs in your niche. Contact them about guest posting opportunities. When I contact for guest posts, I will introduce myself, express interest in guest posting and pitch 3 to 5 ideas.
When you get a reply, if guest post is accepted, then you’ll likely hear back with the authority site’s favorite idea from your list roundup that you pitched. Then, start writing and submit your post for publishing!
When you prepare your guest post, you want to keep the audience in mind. Come from a place of creating value.
And, don’t forget to share something about yourself so you can get traffic back to your blog, your Facebook fan page, your Pinterest account, your digital product, etc.
So, that’s it. More straightforward than you might think, huh. Create amazing content, make sure it can be shared, get inspired, source amazing content to improve upon and make your own, and guest post.
